The Pewter Plate doubles as a traditional cafe during the day, and a Thai restaurant and takeaway in the evening (although you can order Thai food throughout the day). I\'ve not eaten in the restaurant in the evening but have enjoyed takeaways, lunches and the Sunday Thai buffets.
The buffets are great and you can eat as many starters and mains as you like.
The food is all freshly prepared, wholesome, healthy, sometimes spicy, but above all, really tasty. A particular favorite of mine is Thai Yellow curry with aubergine and beef, although I love all the curries (red, green etc) almost as much. The chicken satay starters with peanut sauce are also very moreish.
The staff are great, and Sawney and her helpers make you feel very welcome. The chef will prepare vegetarian versions of any dish on request, even for the buffet, and will even go easy on the chillies if you are not a lover of hot food.
I'd eat here every night if I could, and I'd be much more healthy if I did!
